I got a nielsen spyware pack in the mail yesterday. It had a $1 glued inside, with a promise of $10 if I surveilled myself and sent them the data.

My first thought on seeing the dollar was 'Ooh... Money!", but thinking about the motivation factor a dollar once provided, it just isn't the same anymore. If you walked into a store with a single dollar, you wouldn't leave with much fun. Maybe a candy bar. They should start with a $5 bill glued inside, then give $20 for filling out the spyware. I still wouldn't do it, but at least I'd have $5 :^P

I don't have tv, but it's more demographic questions targeted towards advertising. I spend a not insignificant effort blocking trackers, and keeping myself out of databases. I'm not gonna do their work for them for trivial baubles like $10. That won't even cover my time going through their book.

I occasionally think how easy it is to bribe animals with food. You can get them to do just about anything with a couple scraps they don't even need. I think of how stupid they are to be manipulated so easily. Humans aren't so different I guess.

Sooooo tired. First day shift is always rough. Tonight I'll sleep more easily then it won't be so bad. I only had like 2 hours of sleep lol. Just could not fall asleep last night, was wide awake.

Guess I should consider ordering something for lunch.

I'm having trouble with new HGST drive with the power disable feature. The molex to sata adapter did not work. So, today, I'm going to try the new power supply. I figure it's got the newest revision for sata power. However, it doesn't look like it's practical trying to wedge it into my old P180 case. So, I've decided to just move the guts to the new case just to get it going. I can swap out the motherboard and CPUs when I eventually get them.

Fun. o_O
