I got a nielsen spyware pack in the mail yesterday. It had a $1 glued inside, with a promise of $10 if I surveilled myself and sent them the data.
My first thought on seeing the dollar was 'Ooh... Money!", but thinking about the motivation factor a dollar once provided, it just isn't the same anymore. If you walked into a store with a single dollar, you wouldn't leave with much fun. Maybe a candy bar. They should start with a $5 bill glued inside, then give $20 for filling out the spyware. I still wouldn't do it, but at least I'd have $5 :^P
I don't have tv, but it's more demographic questions targeted towards advertising. I spend a not insignificant effort blocking trackers, and keeping myself out of databases. I'm not gonna do their work for them for trivial baubles like $10. That won't even cover my time going through their book.Fill it out, don't watch any tv?
