Entertaining the idea of buying a nice new SSD.

I've run out of space here, I'm going to be putting in an old 7200.11 500GB to handle some stuff on the next reformat... but I could just get a monster new SSD, and then all my games can sit on an SSD too.

I have all the programs I want right now... except no Starcraft II, no Mechwarriors Mercenaries, no Solidworks, and with only 5 GB of available space. No room to purchase/install Portal 2, or really, to install anything else.

It's 59.5GB. One of the nicest things about this one... it calls itself a 60GB, and lo, I get just shy of that. OCZ named their SSD's properly, I wish all companies would take that hint.

A C300 has just under 120GB formatted (from 128GB). That's double the space. I don't know how much room SCII, MW4M, P2, and SW would take, but... it can't be 60.

The Intel 320 160GB has formatted space of 149GB. So a 90GB increase.

I was just looking at getting a pair of those Kingston V100 64GB Costco bargains, but MIR's are obnoxious, and they're slow drives, with some known failure problems. No thanks.

Nah, that link will have to be down a long, long time before that happens unless you need something that requires a FSMO role on the other side of the link or if the GC was on the other side.

Yes, it has to do with an auto loan, using specific time frame and interest rate.

I haven't tried to reverse the calculations myself, but if you can do it, I'd be very impressed.

SSD is for OS, programs, and games. Also, my documents, pictures, and such because those are small folders (<1GB). I don't really store vast quantities per se on my main computer, because the server takes care of that for me.
