Well I can say I did something semi productive today. I put up two neon tube fixtures in my basement to replace two sockets that have CFLs. I'm always scared I hit them when doing workout, the neon tube fixtures are flush with the joists so nothing sticking out.

Did not do any of the actual electrical though, need to do that during the day, going to overhaul a lot of the electrical in my basement at same time as there's lot of circuits that could be split up and ran from the server room panel to free up spaces in the main one.

Why are you putting up neon fixtures?

I'm sure he's confusing something else with neon.
It's rare to have them in a residential setting. And if not set up properly can be an electrocution risk. 15kV @60mA hurts like hell!

Got them for free. :p They have T8 ballasts so not that bad efficiency wise. I currently have some regular sockets with CFLs but they stick out, and at risk of being hit when doing certain exercises like shoulder presses. I mounted these flush inside the joists.

These are "only" 600v so nothing too too bad.
