Those speeds make me sad. I'm lucky (/s) enough to live in an area where comcast is king, making 12mb/s look amazing. I factory reset everything they gave me though and now we seem to have the artificial limit taken off. It would stop at 11.99mb/s but now I can get up to 50mb/s though ~35mb/s is more common. Still drop to ~5-6mb/s during peak times.
Yeah, I wont tell you the price just to save you the frustration. Even during peak times I dont ever see anything but what I pay for (150/150). FiOS is set up here so even if everyone in the area were using their connection, i'd still be getting minimum 75/35. But I have never actually had that happen. The lowest I saw was the day it was installed and it was only getting ~115mbps, tech had to call the local hub and get them to change something on their end and ever since then it's been consistently 140-160mbps.
Also, I have heard rumblings of 10G-PON installation going in 2016/17 around here. And with that is rumoured to come a free speed doubling for all tiers. so my 150/150 could potentially turn into 300/300 for free in ~2 years.
I've been downloading exactly 284.11GB over the past couple days and it estimates about 9 hours left.
Ow, I downloaded ~220GB in about 6 hours yesterday while browsing the internet and playing CSGO.
