Electromagnets, how do they even work?




Bored at work. :biggrin:

That thing puts out what 5V? You should plug it into the wall, which is 120V.

That was my reasoning in grade 6. Took out all the fuses from my WWII era school :awe:

Funny thing is I wasn't hurt, just blacked fingers from the smoke.

12v but the current was paltry, I could barely magnetize that screwdriver to even pickup one of those screws. I have a nice coil I made at home which will magnetize screw drivers quite well when I plug it into a 12v computer power supply. The screwdrivers actually repel themselves.
