I hope the electricity is still connected out there. If we pulled the wire from beneath the ground, I'm totally fucked.

Tonight's agenda...
1) Check for power to the shed
2) Install four more air conditioners to the house
3) Package eVGA 460 for RMA
4) Back up files for system reformat

Modern construction is so much nicer. Eight foot basement ceilings are pretty much the standard.

So if I were going to spend $300 on my computer, it'd be a 160GB Intel SSD. Not a $350 receiver and speaker combination.

And I'm not spending that $300 either, I'll just use a 500GB HDD to carry the games.
Pretty much everything else, all the utility programs, the browsers, even Photoshop and Visual Studios, can go on the SSD. Just the games, like TF2, SC2, and MW4:M, will go onto the HDD.

What? You saw the link to the $350 receiver/speakers combo a couple days ago, but I'd rather get a larger and faster SSD to replace or accompany my 60GB SSD for similar money.

But I'm not planning on putting money into the computer.

Well crap. The HTPC I was talking about a couple of weeks ago? The one that just started randomly crashing? I finally got the most recent patches on it and it went 10 days without a single crash. Then, yesterday, it started crashing again. :(

Not sure what it could be. I doubt two sets of RAM would magically go bad in it (initial RAM tests were successful, but maybe I'll hook it up and run memtest overnight). Maybe a RAM mismatch? This new set is a 1600 set and the existing set is either 1333 or the speed below that. It could also be a driver issue or an issue with the drives -- one error did point to a pending drive failure (all check healthy in disk manager) and earlier errors with the last RAM pointed to a driver issue.

At any rate, it is pretty warm up there (the cause?) so I decided to shut it down for now. The bad part is that it crashed and wrecked my Sharepoint 2010 lab.

It could also be an issue with the system board I guess.

I bet if I removed VMWare from it, the crashes would cease. I wonder if there is an incompatibility with VMWare and the AMD chipset I have. Just too many damn variables. The 8 GB kit in there is to go in my next system, too.

Of course I have 2 unopened 8 GB kits (one 1333 and another 1600) sitting right next to my unopened SSD in my closet.
