Trying to remember what this iso toolset disc thing was called. Had a bunch of tools on it. Was able to run Linux & XP non-installs. Had tools for cracking passwords & shit. Used it a lot back in the shop. Would rather pull that out my ass than have to message user for their password. But I might have to if the user forgot their pwd anyway.
Far as I can tell the HDD is going bad. I've never seen Ubuntu give the notice that the drive has many bad sectors before. Even on failing drives. Either it's an error in the reporting, or it's really bad. It probably bad.
Rather do a few more things to make sure before I inform user that their HDD is gone to shit.
