Most asian parents I know force their kids to learn piano at age 5 until they move out, and even then my friend still gets yelled at to come home and practice piano sometimes.

yeah, my friend plays cello, violin, piano, and yangqin, they have two upright pianos and a baby grand, so she is forced to practice piano whenever she goes over. Once she was 21 though she told her mom no to the other instruments (though she practices every now and then)
