Funny when I was a kid I was obsessed with streetlights, especially watching them turn on. I used to know the exact order the ones visible from my house would go on, and in what matter. Some would flash a lot, others where smoother. We had one in our yard too. I'd just look out the window from bed to watch it go on. :awe:
Well then you will be my new friend! :)

mixy likes flashing people
Excuse me?

that reminds me... I gotta buy a UPS for my NAS.

my living room sucks... all the power outlets in there are also tied to the light switch. it's fine when it's just me, because I know not to hit the switch, but every couple months a friend will end up flicking the switch without thinking trying to get the lights on. (on the other hand, there's no overhead lighting in the room either... so I've got to walk 5' in the dark and turn on a lamp as I enter the house)

rewire it to bypass the switch.

I use TrippLite UPS's, but that's just my personal preference.

I wanted to have that done when I first moved into this apartment, but at this point, I'm not sure it's worth the hassle. (although, if I were to ever buy this house from my aunt, I'd probably do that and install overhead lighting before renting it out to someone else)

take off the wall plate, remove the switch, remove the wires connected to the switch, twist them together with a wirenut. Done.

While the power is turned off, of course.

fixed for my skill-level :p

although, if I ever get around to hiring an electrician to run coax into the bedrooms, I may have him do that at the same time.

Why can't you be one of those macho gays? (I'm sure they exist)

so pusillanimous, just go ahead and keep the power on, makes for a much more exciting day if you do that.
Well I dont mind but some people are scared shitless.

I love watching this guy's drama on Facebook.

unfortunately, it's now in the annoyingly sweet "omg, I love you boo" phase of constant posts... but, having gone from single last month to being engaged this month, I can't wait for the inevitable breakup drama.

me: how are you feeling?
him: like I got run over by a bus filled with liquor and cigarettes.

wonder if he remembers the super awkward car ride wherein he caused his sister and her married paramour to breakup by totally harassing the married guy with questions about when he's going to end things with his wife, what their future is, do they love each other, etc.
