this guy is such a scumbag...

took all his vacation time, burned all his sick days, and now he's taking 6 weeks of paid leave under the Family Medical Leave Act (his wife just had a baby) with the full intention of quitting as soon as his leave is up.

meanwhile, we lose a warm body for 2.5 months and can't hire a replacement because he hasn't actually quit yet.

No. Get a fucking job.
If I wasn't an idiot & suck at & fuck up everything when it comes to normal people robot jobs, I wouldn't be in this position right now.
Without car or phone, my job search has been limited to local area. Which has not been good to me. Already checked with a few places (same places I've gone to many times over the years looking for work) and it's the same everywhere, they're not looking to hire anyone. Especially me.

You need to have more confidence in yourself, for starters.

I used to. It directly affects stuff like interviews. But no matter how much I've had confidence in the handful of strengths, employers can and always will find someone better, smarter, more efficient & makes less mistakes than I do.
My last employer constantly talked down to me about how much I sucked at my job, combined with customers bitching at me about sucking too.

Then I had another employer constantly drill me about how much I sucked at my job, combined with customers bitching at me about sucking too.

Being negative isn't going to get you anywhere, though.

Whether negative or positive, it is an observation of things that hasn't changed much in relation to job hunting or employment over the years.
Spent more time being a professional job hunter of sorts than I have actually working. Looking for work doesn't get bills paid.

You have to keep trying and not give up. There must be something you are good at.

I've just grown tired of spending the time proving myself to end up back at the unemployment office no matter how great my performance is.

I've realized that no matter what normal job I may take up from here on out, it will never get the kind of work out of me like what I put in to something that I enjoy & have a passion for:
