IRAN SCRAM!

Anyone else get that broadcast?

Does that mean someone is at high readiness?

Trying to figure out what else I need to buy for recording my PSP with the Hauppauge HDPVR. But am confused on what else I need to get so that it works for sure. Shit.

Oh, I took a corner this morning at over 40 MPH, probably a 45 degree corner, and felt the whole car do a little sideways shift, more pronounced across the back end.

Really need some better tires. These snow tires are really abominable for anything other than snow.

Did you get similar performance without CM?

Yes and no, it's quite complicated. Short answer: it is slightly improved over a previous custom ROM. It is vastly improved over the stock ROM.

On the stock HTC Sense 2.2 with stock kernel, I got abysmal battery life while using the phone, but great standby life.

I switched to Liquid Thundersense 1.6. Still had Sense, cut down a ton of bloat, and came with imoseyon's lean OC kernel. Phone ended up being faster, better usage battery life, pretty comparable standby life.

When I moved to CM7, it came with an OC/undervolt kernel similar to imo's lean, but it also needed new radios. The new radios destroyed the standby life, because it turned out the old radios weren't doing handoffs, so the phone wasn't actually on a signal for hours at a time. Saved the battery life, but it was effectively disconnected from the networks.

In usage time, CM7 is an improvement over Thundersense in usage time (and do recall CM7 does not have Sense, which helps), but its standby time has gone way down.

I mean, I can sell half my stock account, and easily buy my wheels and tires, brand-new all over, no problems... but I'm not keen on such a blunt hasty expensive approach. I have no problem with used wheels, I really don't. I'd actually prefer used wheels, rather than take shiny expensive things onto the brutal New England roads.

But finding a set of 17x8 wheels, with a +35 to +45 offset, 5x114.3 bolt pattern, that don't look like shit, is nearly impossible.

Hell, it is impossible. There are very few wheels I think look decent, and that alone cuts off about 99% of the aftermarket wheels.

Then I refuse to get a knock-off brand, because I don't want cheap wheels that are going to explode when I bump them through a pothole. I'd love to say forged only, but those are fucking expensive. Like my entire wheels budget for a single wheel.

So that cuts down on the list. And, predictably, people who have shelled out big bucks for nice quality wheels are either a) keeping them, or b) selling them for big bucks still.

17x8 is a fairly uncommon size. 17x7, easy! 18x8, not difficult. 17x8, LOLWUT.

5x114.3 is outnumbered by 5x100 in the 17x8 sizing, which further complicates things.

Then the offset just makes life worse. More of the aftermarket wheels go into the +4* range, and that's pushing the limits of what I can take on my car.

But if I do shell out several hundred bucks on wheels, a) not gonna be happy about it, b) the first rock that pings one of them is gonna to make me wish nuclear death on the nearest city.

meh...I just had to pay $550 for 4 tires over the summer. And that was after beating the guy to death on price. Tire guys will deal on price. Fuck them if they tell you they can't. Especially for special order sizes. I promise they aren't having the factory make them for you. They already bought the things and they need some poor schmuck to sell them to.

I'm still working on the wheels. Tires will come next.

Had Painter held on against the Chiefs and managed to beat the Steelers, along with winning a couple of others that the Colts were ahead in, Manning would still be a Colt.

Therefore, Curtis Painter is the antichrist.
