This problem... well, I solved it, but it describes something that is not physically possible. To whit, it wants you to consider a geometrical structure in more dimensions than actually exist.

Two of eight problems done, two sheets of yellow wide rule used. I'm turning it in on the yellow, I like working on yellow. I have four pads of yellow paper, 20 lb, wide-ruled (I do wish it was narrow ruled, but I couldn't find 20 lb narrow, and 16 lb isn't durable enough for gel pens).

So I always keep a pad of this yellow large paper by my computer, and a 5x8 notepad narrow ruled 20 lb for smaller notes.

So fuck it. The problem doesn't specifically say "use vectors to solve this", so I'll use Pythagorean Theorem to prove what everyone knows.
