What does the room look like. What other stuff are you connecting to it. What speakers do you have?

I have integrated sound for an X58 motherboard driving a ton of MP3 based music files. The system sits on a custom bench on one wall of a 11' by 11' room. There will be nothing else linked to that sound combination. It would be replacing a Logitech X-530 sound system, which is currently set as only a subwoofer and the front two.

Then why a surround sound receiver?

Onkyo TX-8255 would power those speakers

Combo deal is pretty awesome, and it'd be more or less future proof. Plus it does Bluetooth input, which has some pretty badass potential usages.

I just think it's a bad idea to put a crappy receiver with those speakers.

Aren't these threads counter-intuitive? They get large and screw up the forums and you just keep making more of them.....and then people complain when the forums are down.
