IMO, the only reason neckbeard and Alkemyst are still here.. is due to the hits they generate.

Could be wrong though.

I have to have a room dedicated to my stuff. I don't give a crap what my wife does to the rest of the house except maybe the bar area. :awe:

Rofl.

Yeah, I guess my shit is all over the place... she would probably appreciate if I got it all into one room.

I was thinking about building a sunroom on the back of my house, could make that the mancave I suppose.

I have too much equipment to spread all over the house. It needs to be centered in one location and when we bought the house in 2008, I told her I was having a mancave. The guest bedroom is technically her cave.

It's pretty sweet. I learned that Commodore's proprietary video connector (5 or 6 pin DIN connector) was actually just an s-video connection, so I was able to build an adapter to connect the Commodore 128 to the TV. I also do have a C64 (the old bullet-shaped case) but the keyboard is a little gimpy on it so I have my 128 hooked up instead.

I'm younger than you, I think, but I can remember going over to my uncles house to play on their C64. There was this horizontal scrolling shooter I was particularly fond of, can't remember the name of it. Then there was lemonaid stand, lol.

Though, one thing I did put my foot down on was when we bought our last plasma TV and I followed it up with a receiver and speakers. I insisted that speakers were going in the living room, like it or not. I did agree to make them inconspicuous, however.

I love Commodore computers and wish I played with them more. The Vic 20 was my first computer and then I got a C64, then a C128, and then my Amiga before moving to PCs. If Commodore was still around, I'd probably still be buying their computers. The "Commodore" that is around now is a travesty.

I will have a man cave of my own.

Things I'll have in my man cave:

  • An eyefinity setup
  • A wheel with recaro seat
It will take 5 years before I settle in my life. I would also like to build my own holodeck.

Heck, I miss old dial-up BBSes. I don't know where my Amiga modem is but believe it or not, I found the first modem I ever owned in my garage last summer. I still have the original box and the software tape (yes, cassette tape) along with most of the documentation in the box.

I suspect that I have a box or two of Amiga and Commodore stuff in my attic. I am missing enough stuff from both systems that it just about has to be there, though some of the Commodore stuff could be at my mom's house still.

I've already had thoughts of converting the garage into a man cave after the office gets converted into baby room #2.

I tried to claim our third garage bay as my southern mancave, but that didn't float. :D
Heh, well ours barely fits two cars (well my Avalanche and a Murano), but I'd do the whole thing. Carpet it, put in a swamp cooler, maybe a pool table, TV, maybe a PC etc.

My garage has a huge attic over it and I'm thinking I could build a decent-sized room up there one day and maybe move my mancave there. The wife, however, does not share my vision.

Well the closet (walk in, in our bathroom) has an attic, that was actually finished by not the previous owners, but the ones before that. The only issue is pulling down the stairs and it's a little cramped, no AC and thats bad news in Fresno, I'd have to steal some duct going to the bathroom to make it passible, but the garage would be so much better.

Currently it's called the bat cave and we just use it for storage.
