New cars are shit (well american ones) for most part.
Hard to beat a ford 9 inch rear. Mopar 8 3/4 right behind...

They have far too much computer and pollution control and regs banning the tampering with them. Of course there are smart folks that can fake OBDII tests in the firmware too!

I'm a bit more of a believer in GM powertrains than Ford designs. I'm also more familiar with their technology.

I absolutely agree with you on the second bit though. OBDII is far far more of a pain than it is a help.

I would not want a V8 in front of me in that tiny of a frame though. I drove a modded del sol (Honda) that felt like a slot car and was pretty quick but needed to be kept in high 7k range like the S2000. Too damn whiny for me. I like the burble of real displacement and the instant gratification of snapping the throttle to wheel spin it provides moreso than handling in the turns. That's what the 911 is for. (and still has enough umph to keep up with the guys in the blown engines that want to do 185 mph on I40! :awe:

Oh ford automatics slip like a bitch stock. Every damn F series truck I drove felt softer than a loaf of bread sitting in the swamp when shifting.

I like forced induction, but it still doesn't truly give the same feel of a big happy N/A motor. A V8 in a Miata involves adding some stuff - new subframes, internal fender braces, frame rail stiffeners, et cetera. Without that, you're right, the motor is too powerful to really be a healthy experience for that car.

A supercharged six would be nice. It's a good handling car but very underpowered. The pop up headlight covers are hideous too. Feels like you're riding on the back of a frog at night!

That is the biggest problem with the Miata - total lack of power. You can turbo the four, but it's never going to be the same. Since it's big enough to fit a nice motor in the front, might as well do it.

I wouldn't want an NA, pop up headlights look ridiculous. The whole car really lacks in styling IMO.

That four won't last long turbo'd unless you're one of those 8 pound pussies. Then what's the point?

lol. Sensitive data or porn?

Somewhat sensitive data. It's normally when I'm working or something. I'll have a snippet of code on my clipboard.

I doubt it's really that sensitive of data though. It's just from the content pages off of websites lol
