Can you look at the link again and let me know what you think? It is 1333 RAM. Can I overclock an i7 to 4 Ghz without having to go above 1333 on the RAM?

i7 920 has a 133 qpi, gives it a 20 multiplier, 2.66 Ghz. To get to 4.0 means 200 qpi, then it's up to the memory modifiers in the motherboard. But I think I've done 4.0 (200 qpi) on 1600 rated memory, and it's still running 1600. So I guess there is a 1:1 divider, so I would think you can do it. That'd be about the limit. But honestly, it's been over a year since I've messed around with my overclock.

Yeah, I was thinking maybe I should step up to 1600 RAM. I know nothing about overclocking on the i7. On my E8400, I think the bus (forgot the exact name) is running at 443 and that means by default, the RAM is running at 866. Rather than mess with overclocking RAM too, I bought the 1066 RAM to eliminate that as an issue. I kind of want to do the same with my next box. I see that many people are hitting in the mid 4 Ghz range on air, so that would be my target.
