I am so damn happy that I am not at our Convention. You will probably see me say this every day for the next couple of weeks. :awe:
Good news is... so is almost everyone else, considering Seahawks, Jest, and Packers were the underdogs.
I was 3 for 4. My only miss was the Saints and I'm not heartbroken that they lost.
Damn, you're good. I'm impressed you'd call it against the Colts though.
Yeah, well, fuck the Saints. I'm finally getting sick of those commercials. You know the one showing the pick in the Bowl last year? I was wishing to see the commercial cut out halfway through and go to the Seahawks running one back on the Saints.
Your guesses for the next four? Again, it's...
Jets @ Patriots
Ravens @ Steelers
Seahawks @ Bears
Packers @ Falcons
Well, we're close. This week is tougher. The only one I am sure about is the Jets @ Pats. Here are my preliminary picks but I reserve the right to change my mind up to game day:
Jets @ Patriots -- Patriots
Ravens @ Steelers -- Steelers (I want the Ravens to win though)
Seahawks @ Bears -- Bears
Packers @ Falcons -- Toughest game to call. I am going with the Packers as of now.
I did call it against the Colts because while I may be a fan, I'm realistic enough to know that the injuries were just too great to overcome. Frankly I was surprised that they were within 50 seconds of winning the game. That, to me, doesn't bode well for the Jets and that is the point Jets fans miss when I talk about the Colts' injuries. The Jets fans think I am making excuses for the Colts losing but quite the contrary -- I am pointing out that the Jets barely managed to beat a team missing 1/3 to 40% of its players and you shouldn't be too happy with that kind of performance if you're a Jets fan. Had the Colts had even just one player back (specifically, Clark or Collie), I think they win the game by 7 to 10 pts.
The NFL and the media risk making people hate the Saints. I've heard multiple people say how sick and tired of hearing "Katrina this, BP that" all the time. The NFL just needs to drop it. As I mentioned in another post, the Saints got their SB win and now everything is supposed to be magically better for them.
