I really wish my boss would let me rip them to pieces, but he is way too nice. It is a character flaw.

Despite my last post, your boss might be right.

It's not common sense. It's politics.

Let somebody else take the lead. You just feed them the ammo.

Trust me. :)

Aren't they all???

No, but in this case, this company is full of asshats.

I work for a very well-known (nationally) company. Having our account is a feather in the cap of any vendor and people literally are knocking on our door all the time to try to get our business. These guys got tons of business from us and at first, were very good. Then they managed to piss off their A players, who left and told them to get screwed. Since then, they have had extremely high turnover and nothing but excuses.

At any rate, the president of this company has invited a project manager I work with to lunch -- no doubt to give more excuses since they lost yet another person. I'd love to go and rip this guy a new one and tell him he won't ever see a dime of our business as long as I am there, but my boss wants me to behave. He is too nice; at my last company, our IT Director would've kicked these guys to the curb in no time.

This consulting company is dying. There are no ifs, ands, or buts. We have nothing to gain politically by being nice. We've already shifted our business to another firm and my boss made me include these dipshits in an RFP recently so we would not choose them and that way, they'd "see the writing on the wall." Or we could do it my way and tell them that their services are no longer needed, required, or desired.

We have nothing to gain from even speaking to them. We're the whale in the water and they're the plankton.

My apologies for making you type so darn much

It's therapeutic. I could bitch about these guys and my "too nice" management all day.

I interviewed for a job a few years ago and they made me take a personality assessment exam. When I met wth the IT Director, he shared the results -- my results mirrored the results of a typical C-level exec. Most of those guys are assholes, and I certainly am one, so I know why we matched. :awe:

Clearly this means you should now be a C-level executive.

generically: venting is good.

Venting away from work is better

Folks who vent every day at work are
1. _itches
2. _ricks

neither of which make a nice day at work
