I know there are several North Alabama ATOTer's here. Is everyone ok? We've had multiple confirmed tornadoes with multiple confirmed fatalities this morning and more expected this afternoon.

Last I heard from the responders, they just saw a bunch of wall clouds everywhere. I didn't think anything had actually touched down.

at least 2 touchdowns. I work at a weather research facility at UAH. I get all the good news as it comes in

I'm currently dead. You should see the intarweb connection they have down here in hell! It's bloody fast!

Damn I hope they don't head towards NC again. We got hit pretty hard in our county with last weeks storms. About 60 homes destroyed and $9 million in damages.

We had a tornado warning up here in NW Ohio today... it was sunny out, and never that windy... No clue why it was announced etc...

i work near UAH. we were told to go home (yay!) around 1pm, since it would get worse. everything all right so far.

A tornado spotted in Tuscaloosa,AL.

I live in Birmingham (where the Tornado is right now). It passed North of me but I fear for a lot of people in the area. Wind speeds were 204 MPH in Tuscaloosa, E5-class. Meteorologists are saying the tornado itself was a mile in diameter.

Not much in Huntsville right now. We had a little bit of tornado activity, but nothing as serious as you're reporting. Unfortunately, there's no power 🙁.

Luckily I'm out of town attending a conference in New Orleans. My fiancée finally got a cellphone call through and she is okay. Several fellow faculty members have homes that have been damaged or destroyed, as have a few of my students. The details have been slow to trickle in because the cell networks have been overloaded in town and landlines mostly down in the affected areas. I don't even know if my apartment survived. I will find out soon as I will carpool back tomorrow to check the damage.

Ripped through parts of GA as well. This is the first storm in many years that has genuinely concerned me. Pretty sure tornado's landed within a 20 mile radius of me, but probably have to wait till morning to know. I was in the direct path of a cloud rotating, but as far as I know nothing came of it. Siren has gone off 30 times tonight.
