Sox in 5. Yeah, our pitching hasn't been incredibly strong, but Pedro will start at least two games in the series (hopefully game 4 instead of 5, but no matter either way). We also have good pitching that just hasn't got the job done at the end of the year, so hopefully they will step up as well.

Finally, nobody can compete with our offense, period. Probably that's the biggest difference between this Sox teams and any other... We are almost always still in a game.... I dunno, I think this series is going to be well played, but he Sox will take it.

What happened to best out of five format in first round?

Oh yeah, I predict sweep. Who cares about your home field advantage in that ugly shack called a stadium.

you know, you wouldn't get flamed so much about hating the Red Sox if you weren't an ass about it. Try not being a dick, and maybe you will find that people on this board can be civil.

Just curious, but why is everyone discounting the A's. I am a Red Sox fan and I do think this Sox team is good. Better than I have seen in a long time.
However the A's aren't going to roll over and play dead. They have two quality starters in Hudson and Zito with Lilly as a good 3rd.
I just don't know why so few people have them winning. Guess its too many people jumping on the Sox-Cubs Bandwagon.

Heck I would love the sox to go on an 11 game win streak about now. But as a Red Sox fan I am well versed in Red Sox baseball.
I'm just hoping this post-season doesn't lead to an ulcer.

Why A's suck this year.

Average year from Tejeda and Chavez.

Ellis, Brynes, Guillen, Rincon, Foulke all suck.

No Mulder = no trophy.

Love to choke in the first round.

No future because Tejeda will be gone next year just like Jason Giambi, Johnny Damon, Jason Isringhausen....

If they suck so much how were the able to beat the Red Sux 4 out of 7 this year and win their division..something that the Red Sux failed to do.

Hmmm if they miss Tejeda like they missed those other they should win their division.

The Sox have a Devastating Offense and one great pitcher. It might carry them past the A's (not a given) but it is unlikely with the rest of their rotation, especially their suck ass Bullpen, that they will go far.

I admit our Bullpen sucks but that doesn't mean we can't beat them!!!

Pedro, Wakefield, Lowe, Burkett are all solid starters damn you!

I agree, the A's are a mighty fine team, they don't choke like our boys do.The A's taking it all would be far preferable to those damn Yankee's,let us not not forget where our real anomisty lies here.
