btw.. after 4 staraight years of losing in the decisive game of ALDS, where do A's go from here?

1. they drop Tejada, but still win AL west, and lose again in game 5
2. they drop Tejada, and their Big three can't ride A's into playoff. (i feel Texas coming)
3. they somehow keep Tejada, increase the payroll, and make playoff, win ALDS, everyone's happy.... for one year
4. they do nothing, somehow ride the second half wave again, and make playoff, and because they are so sick of losing in 5th game of ALDS, they let the other team sweep them in 3.

A's = the new doormat of the AL West.

Oakland, you played well. I have no trash talk for you. Just glad it's you and not us. Was another great game. Had me worried right up to the last strike.

I sorta thought D.Lowe would get one strikeout. Didn't expect him to get two--was expecting a ground out... but I actually felt good about him being in there. Way to come through under pressure! Phenominal!

Bottom Line, Great games by both teams, great series. Some things will be talking about for years and years, but in the end, it was a great matchup. Next up, Yankees. I'm going to pick Boston in 7. GO SOX!

Don't you mean the Big Four? Harden is a great young pitcher and he showed in his first 3 major league starts that he has the stuff to be a dominant pitcher like his teammates. I think he's going to be nasty next year and if that is in fact the case, it would be a sick rotation (Hudson, Mulder, Zito, Harden).

as much as i want to see Yankees lose, i don't think it'll be done by RedSox.

if Sox can't sweep Yankees, they'll lose the series. Yankees have this weird 'magic' in Postseason, or that's what others think at least

A's still have a excellent rotation.

Hudson
Mulder
Zito
Lilly
Harden (still not good enough yet)

Trot Nixon should hit that ball harden.

Harden lost my vote during last couple outings... so at least for now, it's Big Three, i hope it's going to be Fab Four in 2004.

i like how everyone says Chokeland but ...

A's were underdogs
By saying Chokeland, you are taking away a great win by The SOx, pretty much saying they didn't have faith.

Yup, Oakland blew it. This series was theirs to win and as soon as they choked in game 3, I knew they'd lose again. I could hardly even watch game 5.

Sucks. Lots o' for me and all the A's fans. :brokenheart:

Did anyone see Derek Lowe's DX chop?

Well deserved I might add

to Oakland bench? .. that wasn't neccesary

Looked like random fist-clenching taken to the extreme. Didn't look like it was directed at anybody in particular (to me anyway)

Where is the logic behind that? The Sox will give the Yankees a series, at the least, and, at best, beat them.

there's no logic here.

it's just my gut feeling that whoever starts fast will have success in the series, and usually, it's the yankees who start fast,
