uhm, still go padres?? even though we got swept and the best hitter tore his acl after he had to be restrained and we pretty much got to win out the season...

3 way tie for the NL Wild Card spot after tonight?
gawd i hope not.
Wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo, Padres score four in the ninth to win. No tie tonight.
and with peavy going tomorrow night... 🙂

hopefully this momentum is enough for them to shut the door on the wild card and even better; the division. keep in mind it was a 10th inning walk-off homer against the giants by greene to start their 7 game win streak a week and a half ago.

True lifelong Red Sox fan here. I hate "Member Since '04" pink-hats just as much as you do (they're the ones who come to your town and act like assholes in your ballpark).

As of tonight's victory over Oakland, the magic number is now 3. Hopefully we'll finish strong with this series and Minnesota to end it and get our first division title in over 10yrs. Drew and Lugo seem to have come out of their first-half slumps. Manny's back, and Youkilis pinch hit as well. Beckett's in Cy Young form, and we have five of the league's most promising rookies--Pedroia (ROY?), Matsuzaka, Okajima, and callups Jacoby Ellsbury (.372/3/15 with 35 hits and 9 SB in 27 games) and Clay Buchholz (no hitter in 2nd major league start and a disgusting curveball). Once Gagne hits a stride we're all set. Things are looking good for the postseason and beyond.

I love these comeback victories against the Giants. I was at that game and I was at the game in August when Hairston hit a walkoff homer in the 10th to win after he tied it in the 8th with a homerun. Tonight I also didn't tune in until the bottom of the 8th, so it was perfect to hear the whole comeback.

I've sort of lost hope with a NL West threepeat, but tonight should carry them into the playoffs.

Yankees...

'07 has been one of the most exciting seasons in recent history for NY... Here's to reaching and winning the Series again after a 7 year layoff!!!

Another Peavy win. Only 1 GB from the D-backs and they are tied with the Mets record wise. 1st seed or wild card. Man, what a roller coaster type season. Thankfully, the Cards have been eliminated for a couple weeks now.

So how about those Colorado Rockies?? Ten wins in a row! They are only 2 games in back of the division and 1 game back in the wildcard standings!! An amazing run!!! My Mets will be home watching the Rockies in the playoffs the way things are going now ..wow. :Q

Good for the Rockies and their fans. C'mon, there's gotta be a couple of Rockies fans here!

Go Braves!

i've been a braves fan since the 70's. we moved to atlanta in 1971. my dad would watch the braves games because he wanted to see hammerin hank hit the record breaking home run (my dad isn't much of a baseball fan but was intrigues by its significance).

thankfully. every time the padres have gone to the playoffs and not faced the cards, they have gone to the world series.

i just hope that if the padres win the division, that they dont use peavy on sunday. but if they win the wild card, i want him to pitch sunday. i have tickets for home games 1 and 2, and would like to see him pitch.
