Results are only viewable after voting.
I thought so to - the way I read it was that as soon as there were enough votes the "Day" was over.

I also thought that the serial killer and mafia killings were independent of the lynching. Don't 3 people end up dying daily unless either the serial killer is offed or the entire mafia goes down? (Pending cockblocks and the doctor of course)

They are independent of the lynching. The lynching takes place at Day. The other stuff happens at Night. Then the next Day begins.

EDIT: In any case, we haven't had 8 people simultaneously vote for someone. If that were to happen, perhaps the Day WILL end. That'd be up to how the Mod wants to run it.

I wouldn't be surprised if theplaidfad is mafia or the serial killer and just waiting to cast their vote at the last second on the person that has the most votes.

You could be right. However, I can only go with the information I have and based on my past experience in Mafia games.

For all you guys who said that the first day's vote is entirely random... hopefully you now see that, if played correctly, it doesn't HAVE to be. 😉

It is not against the rules to state you are or are not a certain role. It doesn't even have to be true.

~30 hours remain in Day 1.
Mafia had nine votes at one point and nothing happened. This is what is confusing me in this game.

I'll agree - at this pace (3 real days per "day" with a max of 3 kills per day), we'll be at this first game for 2 weeks.

Is there any reason not to let the vote threshold trigger a lynching (but could go 48 hours if that threshold isn't met)? And is there any reason to wait a full 24 hours for "night" if the moderator has everyone's input (kill targets, blocks, etc)?

It sounds like we need 8 votes to get a lynch..what if not one person gets 8? Nothing?

In past games I have played, if nobody comes to a majority decision, then you are correct that nobody is lynched, and Night begins. However, this is not good for the townies, as lynching is the ONLY way to eliminate the mafia members. Sure, it doesn't come without risk... that's why we have to rely on the information we have available to us.

If everyone is cool with it, I say we do 24 hours for day and 24 hours for night. That will still give everyone enough time to participate without it dragging along.

This seems decent, but how about a clause to end a day early if the majority has made a decision?

Since the game doesn't happen in real-time, everyone needs to be given time to respond. In the forum-based Werewolf (Mafia) games I've moderated, I typically gave 12-24 hours for Day and 12 hours for Night. I worked the voting a little differently, but this system works too.

In my opinion, 4 Mafia members for 14 people is too many, even without a Serial Killer. But we will see how it goes. 🙂

That could be another clue in itself? Perhaps the mods copy and paste from the spreadsheet has tipped us a clue.. T and Vivi each get 2 votes b/c they vote as townies and as mafia?

I wouldn't jump to conclusions about that. The Mafia doesn't vote until Night.

True, but his spreadsheet may be laid out such that he has 2 spots for them... 1 for day and one for night. Just a wild idea at this point.

Mine didn't, so I have no reason to assume his would.

Guys, Day and Night are two separate activities. Mafia do not "vote". They simply decide on who to kill, and if they can't agree, then nobody is killed (in the games I have played in and moderated).

Further, Night hasn't happened yet. And even if it had, why would there be a slot for Night that is mixed in with the slot for Day? Two altogether different activities. And one hasn't happened.
