ATOT Lawyers: What happens to debt when a person dies?

My advice is fine if you have a brain that actually functions and is able to extrapolate possible outcomes. What part of estate = car, car = asset, assets of estate goes toward debt, don't you understand? That's about as simple as I can put it so quit trying to act like an intellectual and actually use the shit you call a brain and think. Simple questions require simple answers, if you really want to get into it there are pages and pages you could write about probate law, ask your pretend family member, ( yea the advice you posted that he supposedly gave was nothing more than a cut, paste and edit job off a web site), which actually is fine but you on the other hand seem to be a little insecure twit that has to post as many snide, look how superior I am comments as you can in a thread and then throw pretend families members to try and prove your point. I guess you still play make believe and pretent to be all grown up too bad you fail!. What a sad pathetic little man you must be. You have my sympathy.

You were wrong, son. You posted incomplete/incorrect advice based on nothing more than what you guessed was correct in the fleeting moment of an Internet post. Grow a pair and own up to it.

I am not an attorney, nor did I pretend to be. What I did post, however, was straight from the mouth of a probate attorney with more than 30 years of experience. If you choose not to believe that in order to support your little temper tantrum and false pride, then that's your business... nothing I can do about that, nor do I really care to. If your ego is so fragile that you can't swallow said false pride and admit your advice would have cost the OP $825 because you are as ignorant on the matter as he is, then it is you who has my sympathy. Skippy 😀

Regardless, my source is irrelevant. What I posted is true. What you posted is false. It's as simple as that, kid.

(and your passive-aggressive rage is just delicious 😀)

Sounds like your mother would have been the caretaker of the estate.I'd just fire off some do not contact/false debt letters to the agency.

Of course in the end they could find out your mother would have to pay up, but I'd still make them work for it.

Pansyman it's been so easy to rank your chain. What you posted may be true but it didn't come from one of your relatives. Maybe the lawyer who wrote the site you leached off of had 30 years experience, funny thing is I have 24 going on 25 years. Mostly criminal though.

What I posted was not false you're just a little too limited to understand. I'll help you out though, this ATOT, short answers for short attention spans and everyone that's been around here knows to take everything with a large grain of salt. Advice is the starting point on this board not the ending point. You should have figured that out but then every family has some one a little special, you know not quite up to the standard of all the attorneys in the family.

I see since you seem to be on the board all day school must be out for the summer, my advice, get out of your mom's basement and enjoy your summer, there will be plenty of time to try and boost your gaming scores since there's not much to brag about but you do have the summer to practice, just don't spend it all inside. Fall will be here soon enough and with it the "short bus" to take you back to school.

LOL... your ego and false pride exposed, you retreat to this? Please... no one's buying it. Except you, of course 😉

The only thing I haven't quite figured out about you yet (the rest was quite simple, actually), is why you're so hung up on where I got my information. Seriously, what the hell difference does it make? Internet, relative, etc etc. Who the hell cares? You see, you're trying to focus on discrediting my sources since you really can't argue with having your ass handed to you on every other front. If what I said was true (and it was), who cares where it came from? Why are you so threatened by that? Are you really that fragile?

What I posted was not false

Yes, it was. You issued a unilateral statement without giving a moment's thought to the information you don't have, and you've been back peddling ever since with nonsense like "well I was just summarizing" and "you don't know a lawyer" and the like. Never mind the fact that the single consequence of your misinformed post was "you owe the money, pay up", when in fact, he does not, and therefore he should not. You can't get more wrong than that!

Your constant retreating in the face of this undeniable fact is nothing more than comedy. You question my comprehension, yet you fail to understand the words coming out of your own mouth.

And all of this because I called you "Skippy". Sorry, didn't realize that was your hot button 🙂 . You get so worked up over one little word? (and because you're too proud to admit when you're wrong, even when you're little more than a wrong filled chump with a wrong filling bathing in your wrongness 😀 ) Take a deep breath, kid... it's only the Internet!

Since at this point one can only conclude that you'll continue desperately trying to protect your ego from seeing through its own delusions, I'm going to bow out. I've made my point to the OP (and believe it or not, it did come from the same trusted attorney that I used when I was executor for my mother's and grandmother's estates - but like I said, that's neither here nor there; what's important is the accuracy of the information provided), and this thread has degenerated into you throwing a fit over being called "Skippy", and me kicking a poor chump when he's down. So I'll stop, I promise 😉 . You refuse to say uncle, but I'm letting you up anyway. I'm just a nice guy, what can I say 🙂

I think your statement, "LOL... your ego and false pride exposed, you retreat to this? Please... no one's buying it. Except you, of course" is in actuality your personal reason for bowing out. If you want to think your the big man be my guest, the insecure have to save face somwhow.

You ask why it matters where you got your info, that's easy you LIED , it's that plain and that simple. Being called Skippy doesn't bother me but asses like you do. And BTW my info wasn't wrong, (just giving you another jerk on the chain to see what you have to say). Your advice that he doesn't have to pay is about that stupidest thing you could say. If you bothered to follow the progression of the op's post you realize that and I'd tell you where your wrong but hey what do I know. I'll give you a hint, think time frames. I can banter back and forth as much as you like but I do have a job so it might not be as frequent as you'd like.
