Anyways, I think its a valid point- at times there is too much chat-like neffing. However, it also adds character to the board. Not an entirely bad thing.

Since this is a PC hardware site, any discussion not related to that is "Off Topic", or "General Non-Hardware" as the case may be. The point is, these threads are available for referral months after they're posted. It's a damn shame to clutter it up with stuff not worth referring back to.

Yes, I still remember the first lame "nef" type topic to chafe my butt! :frown:

Well if it would help Anand, I might be willing to open an ATOT annex, we all could enjoy the benefits of keeping an afflition with AT andd chatting with each other and Anand could save on bandwidth 🙂
 
I've subscribed, but I KNOW that doesn't help much. I do feel guilty using this forum so much without ever bothering to even look at the front page! Heh, but where's the first place I go for current PC info? Yep, the front page! 😱

A "Rush Quiz" is a GOOD thing! Jokes are a GOOD thing! Topics about "What did you have for lunch today?", "Man, Immodium AD works FAST" and "Instant Cream of wheat or Instant Oatmeal" are really pushing it! The one word nef conversations are next notch down. Get it? Stuff like that...
 
If it is Off-topic... that fairly implies that there is a topic...

Many of these thread have absolutely no topic... this is becoming a chat room...

I don't understand why it is sooooo difficult for people to exercise a little discretion as to what the post as a "topic."
 
At this point I would like to point out that the Mad face in my above post was an accident. I didn't mean to use the mad face and was planning on using the tongue expression. *oops*. Oh well, I'm a man and will take the punishment for my horrible horrible mistake. *shrugs*.

King Kong ain't got nothing on me! Whoops that was already said somewhere else🙂 Once AT hit 50,000 members ATOT became a lost cause. I think we can do away with the Repost Monitors here and to stop neffing lets leave it to the Mods descretion to delete posts that are obvious Neffs (Sorry Yakko) We could set a daily Post allocation too. Let's say 15 posts a day max(That will be poplular..not).


Finally we could make ATOT open only to those who are subscribers. Of course all women who are already members will be exempt. Since ATOT uses the most bandwidth it seems only fair that those who use ATOT should have to pay for the privilege.Hey if that upsets those who aren't subscribers they can always go to SWF, Paulsons or Rallispec. I'm sure they wouldn't mind the hits. It could be financially rewarding for the owners of those sites.
 
WARNING: Off Topic is approaching critical mass. - similar type thread now in forum issues. If you have a suggestion or something, it might be better in there as it won't be dropping off the 1st page anytime soon and the mods might read it.

Nice ideas Red, alternatively they could just pay you to do what you do best, I think it would rather be like a sort of natural dweeb control, similar to open season for deer 🙂
