Yeah, how in the hell is MrLoserX making a 57% return in a week? Is he REALLY lucky with picking hot stocks, or has he found an exploit in the game? Since he's hidden his portfolio, we have no way of knowing :(

Oh well, I'm still doing good on my own. Go GOOG! :)

The competition is now offered on the site below under the heading below. You get $50k to start.

You cannot day trade and a commission of $20 per trade should be taken into account.

LINK, sign up...trade as much as you want until end of april, see who wins. Competition name is ATOT.

Marketwatch is terrible. There is a 30 minute delay when buying/selling stocks and their game time is set to central, which means that your market open/close trades are delayed.

think of it this way: most free stock tickers are delayed by 15-20 minutes, the in-game trades are delayed by 30-40 minutes and the in-game clock is set to central standard. you are missing out on about an hour of trading and will have to buy/sell in the dark (prices can change drastically, even in a 10 minute time frame).

He's likely using the same exploit I would use if it wanted to cheat. I'll might create a phantom username and use the exploit and see how quickly the dollars pour in. In fact if he's not using my exploit, I might even be able to pass him within a few days/weeks even with his head start.

Hmm... The last stock game I played had a really cheesy exploit that allowed you to make a fortune shorting stocks that posted a big dividend. Here's how it worked:

1) Short a TON of stock on margin the day before it posts a big dividend. The bigger the dividend, the better! This stock game had a really big margin limit, so people usually shorted about $10 million dollars worth on a $100,000 stock game.
2) The day after the dividend is given out, the stock usually drops by the amount of the dividend.
3) Cover your short, and PROFIT!

Are you guys doing something simular, or is this a new trick?

But the price is.

After the dividend is posted the price drops dramtically (about the dividend)

oh yeah, this is a terrible way to learn to trade btw. i spend about 200+ hours on tracking, valuing and analyzing a stock/company. my screening process is extremely rigorous. no way i am wasting time on this. but you all have fun!
