As long as you pass the physical part of the testing process i don't see why it would. Can you run 1.5 miles?

No prob. Check into the local departments' websites. They usually list the type of testing they do and the disqualifications.

For the sake of argument, let's say I go to college. Would EE be a good major? It's what I've been thinking about doing.

I'd also like to move back down south someday... ;)

Hmm....

If I could dream for a minute, I'd like to either be an EE working at Intel/IBM/AMD working on something like lithography *or* (and better yet) a theoretical physicist.

The first is probably more attainable.
