my great uncle died in WWII. planning on visiting his grave someday... no one's ever visited it.... i figure he should get at least one distant relative slappin down a rose on his grave. after all, he landed on Juno beach on D-Day with the Regiment des la Chaudieres and he lasted all the way to April 1945 when he was killed near Zutphen, Holland. he was 19 when he was killed.

he must have witnessed a lot of crazy stuff.

Both of my granddad's went into hidding for the last 2 years of the war, it was either that or forced labour camps in Germany, i have an Aunt who was interned in a Japanese concentration camp for 5 years (she was 2 years old when captured) , her father was in the Dutch Navy in Indonesia (submariner)

Was my first undergrad degree, with a minor in political science. My personal interest is macro-history and patterns, but I also have a fondness for cradle of civilization, ancient Greece and Rome, and to a lesser extent legal history and American government.
