I thought you quit drinking?

i did for a while. you know how hard it is.

I do. I also know that the only way to stay quit is to not take the first drink.

Its your call, but it sounded like you had good reasons for not wanting to drink.

yeah, i haven't hit bottom yet, still functional. saving up money for rehab 🙂

I'm here if ya ever want to talk.

Yeah, really man. I thought you were in AA?

I certainly don't know you but it sounds like you (still) need help. It sounds like the only difference between you now and you 9 months ago is that now you're drunk and reasonably happy instead of being miserable.

i don't believe in a higher power so i don't do AA. i do take medicine to reduce cravings and it works sometimes. i have accepted my flaw, it could be worse. so i'm not as depressed.

anyways, this is a happy thread for those who do like beer and enjoy it responsibily.

That means that you did accept the fact that you are powerless over alcohol. Even if you can't hang with the higher power idea, you can break the cycle now.

You know how it is. Your body does not process alcohol normally, so once you put one drop of alcohol into it, the craving kicks in. Right now you are dealing with the obsession. You can beat that if you want to.

After you drink and right before you hit the sack, just guzzle down a huge glass of water. You'll wake up in the morning feeling just fine, although you'll probably have to wake up at least once to take a piss.

Try it.

+ vitamin B pill for 0 hangover. works every time.

18 in about 40 mins...did you start earlier?

yeah, there's no way i could have drank 18 in 40 mins, started around 5

and its 17

I wouldn't say it's 'impossible' but if you said you had I was about to reply you are going to be fucked in a few minutes 🙂

I hold the record at dollar beer night. the challenge is who can drink the most beers during 8-10 pm when it is dollar beers. My record is currently 15 beers in those 2 hours.

that used to work for me, then it stopped. then i tried alka selzter before going to sleep and that worked until i realized that alka seltzer has acetaminophen and had a dr visit where my liver tests were bad. so, ill try some water.

I'm gonna have to say that you'll need to drink a volume of water equal to the amount of beer you had. Good luck.

yeah WTF, one glass of water is fine for minor drinking..but if you are hammered it's going to take more than that.

I usually drank a glass of water/soda per 3-4 drinks out. I'd go through 8-12 drinks in a night easily out and much more if we were at a house party and camped out for the night.

I almost laughed out loud in the middle of the library. Dude, you need some drinking buddies. Either that, or I need some drinking buddies like yours. 😀
