ATOT father's day thread

Taking a break from all the yard work I did yesterday. Might go for a bike ride or hike later. Wife has roast lamb planned for dinner. Yum.

Gave my husband an Apple TV, made him breakfast, am taking him to see Edge of Tomorrow, and then cooking him a steak dinner.

7am wakeup call that the server was down 😀

Ha, figures man. So, I have my own father's day present to talk about: went downstairs yesterday to fetch a tool and the carpet in the basement was all squishy with water. Not good. Went into utility room, found pinhole leak in copper main feed from water utility. Oh, not good. Insulation, drywall, carpet saturated. Called plumber at about 7 PM, and he said "Hahahahahaha." Went to Home Depot and bought some silicone pipe wrapping tape, managed to change pinhole jet leak into drip. Placed old bucket from dehumidifier under drip, ran hose from knockout to sump. Turned water back on. Had beer.

Wife planned on making me breakfast but the triplets got me up early so we snuck out while mommy slept and went to the pool and were back before she ever got up.

The inlaws are now over and I made a pork tenderloin with Hawaiian seasonings and have been taking care of the kids and grandma who's in a wheel chair.

Wife felt bad that I've been so busy on Father's Day and I said you can make it up to me later 🙂

Took my son to T-ball. Then to dairy queen. Then to the beach. Then I played catch and ninja turtles with him.

To me father's day is about enjoying being a father. And I did.

Got a call from my kids, and called my dad. Mowed the lawns, went up into the barn and restacked 100 or so bales (just in case they were too damp, they weren't stacked tight; checked the temperature of each bale to make sure all was okay.) Unloaded 135 bales of hay from another wagon, and took that into the barn, threw it into the loft, and stacked it. Took the wife's parents out to lunch, and worked in the garden for an hour or so. Plus, visited some other relatives. Twas a good day.

edit: oh crap! I forgot to have dinner.
