My friend just finished a project for one of her engineering classes, and she gets a prize if her video has the most views in the class.

http://www.metacafe.com/watch/...15/you_gotta_see_this/

Please help her out by clicking on the video - you dont have to watch the whole thing if you dont want to.

Its basically an invention that lets small electronics charge from a heat source, in this case they use a blowtorch.

Thanks ATOT!

Your female friend sounds like a dude, are you sure you've got that figured out? Not that there's anything wrong with that...

looks very cool, imagine we could install those in cars and charge an electric battery from the motor's heat. endless energy? 😀

I was thinking the same damn thing. Weird...

lol that's exactly what I was going to say

That's pretty cool.

Though I still think the best source of energy is solar and wind power. It's free (for the energy, not the equipment) and available at a constant rate.

its not a constant rate because the sun doesnt always shine and the wind isnt always blowing.

Well if you look at it over the course of a 24 hour period, you'll always have sun and most likely wind. So as long as you have a way to reserve the energy you can have a constant source of free energy. Region has a big impact too though. Like some regions don't get much wind, or hardly no sun, so would not work well.

Also I would assume a solar panel that is good still works if there's clouds as it's still fairly bright out, or would it?

yeah they still work when clouds are in the sky

Engine would eventually shut-down/fail. not perpetual motion.
