ATOT effect needed to help me downloading a file

I would like to get the latest version of Join Operations Reality mod (v0.25) But I can only dowload 170MB a day and this thing is 297. What I would like to ask is if someone would please download the file and then upload it to our servers via an ftp address i could provide. Im sorry, but I dont have paypal so I cant really compensate. Would anyone be willing to do this please?

Is that Tribes 2 .zip file still on your server?
Feel free to delete it/change passwords and stuff now if you wish, if you haven't already the persons who needed it got it by now

Thats Direcway. They have bandwidth caps. Download more then that and they slow you down to dialup speeds (5 down, 5 up) Keep going, and they cut you off, download and all. So I need to be able to make a resuming download. I can do that on my servers, but not on the link's.

We are still getting 6-7 downloads a month from that file. :laugh: I'll provide a link to it on here when I am sure that it wont completely kill our bandwidth for the month :laugh:

I've never used Direcway, is it something you need an account for? If not, then a proxy should work.

No, it doesn't need an account. Its just entering a proxy of 192.xxx.x.xx and a port of 83 and its good to go. So I just get a different proxy? I'll have to try this out!

EDIT: I just thought the cap provision was hard wired nto either the satellite or the modem itself (Special modem because power has to travel over the cables to power the satellite). I would also think that all the sites specializing in tweaking performance with Direcway would have noticed this. Ill sure give it a shot though and update on if it works. The file offer still stands however if anyone can do it.

that is why i canceled directwa a month or so ago. now i have T6broadband (wireless). It is faster and so much better. also cheaper!

Your so lucky. Its either this or 56k dialup that only connects at 14.6 :| Been waiting for broadband for years and still cant expect even a chance for it till October.

EDIT: and thx Goosemaster. Dont forget peeps, you can download Tribes 2 for free without signup on our servers. I suppose thats the best compensation I can give :laugh: ^ Look above for the link^ I will also try the proxy tonight and update on how it does.

Update for everyone. I tried the proxy but no luck. 179MB and complete cutout. Internet is running slow as mollasses right now. And I was so hopeful too It must be hardwired into the modem or something since they know the end user cant replace it since it has to run voltage over the coax cables to power the satellite. DAMMIT! :| I think it sends out 19.2 volts from the modem to the satellite and recieves 16 volts into the modem. WTH it has to recieve 16 volts from the satellite or where the power comes from is beyond me.

To I Saw and TSS (btw love that show, though i loved the old one on TechTV more then any other show ever ): Anyways nah, they dont really care. They know anyone who uses the service doesn't have a choice. They can charge whatever price they want for whatever amount they want and know its still better than dialup. We are paying $60 for this (800/80). For $70 i think i could get around 1200/286 up and a *i believe* 800MB dl limit. But the parents simply refuse to pay any more for this junk ($120 more a year). And even then, all the modems come with a firewall set up by them and unaccessable and unchangeable. Plus you have to pay $20 on top of $70 if you want a static IP. As I said, this s*** is fvcked up. I so wish we had real broadband .
