its a whole made up thing that microsoft made up for this contest.

the story is that all of a sudden, hex168's start appearing everywhere kind of like crop circles and stuff. and that people who witness the sitings of these start doing wierd stuff.

and the contest is to submit some type of hex168 photo, either a siting or something that has been effected by the hex. its just a stupid made up thing they did heh, but i came up w/that one and it seemed kinda cool.

heh probably everyone who submits is voting 1 for all the other drawings.

they really should have implemented it better so that you could only vote if you don't have a submission, and so that you can only vote once (even though they claim multiple votes aren't counted in the long run).

yea i don't know what they are doing about multiple votes ... here is a quote from the rules:

Determining Semi-Finalists: Each eligible entry submitted during the Entry Period will be posted on the Hex 168 website and visitors to the site will have the opportunity to rate each entry on a scale of 1-10 to determine the Semi-Finalists in each category. The rating period to determine Semi-Finalists will be between noon PT on October 18, 2005 and noon PT on November 7, 2005. Voters must follow instructions on web site to rate each entry. You may rate each entry submission only once. Subsequent attempts by a single user to rate the same entry will be disqualified. Users may rate as many different entries in each category as they choose. The ten (10) highest rated entries in the Thirty (30) person category, the sixty (60) highest rated entries in the Six (6) person category and the one-hundred twenty (120) highest rated entries in the 0-1 person category will be deemed the Semi-Finalists.

so we'll see how they fix that.
