Except that 'Focus on the Family' is headquartered in the Springs and that organization alone, just by existing, and being in that city makes it #1 in my mind. Just listen to some of what they say - they can occasionally make the Westboro Baptist Church look sane by comparison.

I lived in Utah for a year. Woman were very pretty for the most part. In fact I'd go so far as to say damn hot. Despite the religion BS Provo is pretty nice.
Where I live it's a great not too big community and we have our conveniences in a short hop. Where is Fort Collins is full of the college idiots that reminds me of a California shit hole. Not as bad but the traffic and people bring me back to my Cali. days. They can have it! Their fireworks show sucks ass too! I was a firefighter explorer in Fort Collins and helped out confiscate fireworks on the 4th in City Park. I couldn't believe the sheer stupidity of these kids firing bottle rockets at people and blowing up the damn porta potties. Kids: Stupid college students. Their fireworks show only last 15 minutes!
Now in Loveland our fireworks show last at least 30 minutes and I don't recall ANYONE firing off fireworks in the freaking park! Loveland by in large doesn't have their head up ther ass like Fort Collins does. Everything in Fort Collins is spread around where you have to drive a mile or more just to get to a store. Where is in Loveland the store is down the street for most people. We have an outlet mall and a promenade shopping center. We have it all minus a mall. Don't need a mall when you have an outlet. Plenty of restaurants and low crime. I know because I'm into police scanners and radio communications and hear the police all the time. But next year our town's PD is going encrypted, following fuck up Fort Collin's PD going secret squirrel. Once you go digital it's easy to pull the encryption switch unfortunately.
The hippies can keep Boulder and the college egg headed idiots can keep Fort Collins!

Fireworks? That's seriously your example? No place is perfect, but Fort Collins is much nicer than Loveland. I've never heard a single person say otherwise including people who live in Loveland. You live in an alternate reality or something. Loveland schools are significantly worse, property values aren't as stable, there are less jobs in the immediate area (especially technical), roads and infrastructure aren't maintained nearly as well, and the list goes on. Loveland is certainly nicer than Greeley and other surrounding areas that have depressed local economies, but you're smoking something if you think it's better than Fort Collins or several of the other nearby cities.
I lived in Fort Collins and Loveland over the course of 7 years. I basically never encountered college aged kids in either place unless I specifically went within a mile of the campus. Southern Fort Collins is about as family friendly as you can get in a suburb. I owned three houses and two rentals all along the southern edge of the city.

Our street are well maintained. College needs work! That fucking highway is shit compared to 287 going through Loveland or any other road. I know because I delivered phone books all over town and rode mountain bike all over hell.

I read a biography of Truman, one of the more interesting parts was how his grandfather played a big roll in getting them to leave Missouri. Which the book implied involved burning as many of their homes as possible until they left.
