I scanned over the article(didn't read every word), but someone mentioned frathouse bathtubs full of punch and floating hairs. You could catch something from that! Also, I /think/ it's about not sharing drinking apparatus, and spreading germs. That concoction sounds disgusting though. I'd rather take my own bottle of scotch. If I was poor, I'd just drink straight vodka, and pretend I was Finnish. At least that wouldn't leave a nasty taste in your mouth.

The idea is that is the only thing you are drinking from for the whole night. You personalize it to your taste, so it gives you control over how much alcohol you put into it. It is also much easier to keep track of how much you have drunk. No idea how well it works in practice.

Tough to slip a "roofie" or a strong hallucinogen into a sealed jug that never leaves your hand.

I make it a point to only drink beer from bottles opened by me or right in front of me at parties where I don't know everyone well. (and I'm WAY too ugly for "date-rape" to be an issue!)
