You are not the only one Fritzo. I'm more of a lurker / occasional poster but ever since the update it has killed my desire to check out the site.

Tried the vB style in the Style Chooser at the bottom of the site?

Whoa! I didn't know this existed. Much better!!

I used to frequent this place...post several times, a day, reply several times a day, post stupid gifs several times a day. Ever since the update though, ATOT seems different. The interface is so busy, the font is huge...it just doesn't feel like the same place.

I can't be the only one that feels like this :(
I concur

I agree, but it's not because of the format. It seemed to get even less active as of late... A very noticeable step change and I don't know what exactly happened.
If I didn't know we were all old fogeys, I'd say it was because school year started.

What the.....I'M HOME AGAIN :D
I like it. It does satisfy my nostalgic cravings. I also like the experimental dark theme. I think it works better for the new layout than the "oh my god my eyes" brightness of the standard theme.

I agree that the VB style should be default.

It doesn't want into my head why "they" (AT) made significant changes to the forum but then deemed the style/theme of the forum less a priority, the many complaints about the new default style should have given them a hint. All the changes and better security won't be of much use if users run away or stop coming here because of the ugly interface.

Anyway, giving us the option to the use a VB theme was of course great (I think it was Ken G6 who started this first as a theme for stylish), but still I shudder thinking that many folks still don't know about this option.

And...being on a forum like this for 15 years, sometimes longer...very well legitimates calling it "home", sort-of...

I just found the VB setting as well, I was really not liking the new look to the point where I wasn't going to log in again.

Reddit blows, I'd like it better if you could order posts by chronological order.

I didn't know till I just happened to click in the thread, I chose the dark theme since it's much easier on the eyes, though I certainly would never call this site a home, more like quick daily walk through the ghetto just to see what surprise entertainment will happen to amuse me.

You're nuts, now that place is more of a home to me. Its crazy active and much, much more educational and enlightening

the loss of the :colbert: smiley cannot be understated. the lack of thumbsup/thumbsdown is just antiquated.
And a funny thing is there is a thumbs up and down in this system. It's next to the like and unlike buttons.
