Ok, I'm back. I tried the nasal spray.

I saw the neti pot - but they wanted 20$ for a little plastic pot. Being the creative type, I looked at all the plastic crap around the kitchen and realized that my bear shaped honey dispenser was about right. I cleaned and washed it really well and made up some saline solution. I googled neti pot videos, watched one and went and honey potted my nose. I mixed a teaspoon of sea salt in 8 ounces of luke warm water and ran it through my nose. I was unable to free the left nostril - but my right one is clear for now. I'm going to bed. I may just spring for a neti post as the honey bear dispenser didn't form a perfect seal with my nose - but o well. . . it was free. What an odd sensation btw. . .

I didn't want to buy the pot either.
I took one of those nasal squirt bottles and cut the tip off to get more flow. It seals up well. Mix solution, pour into bottle, pour away. I give a little squeeze too but not too much.

on a side note if you are still looking for some relief, mucinex is really good for this. It'll bring stuff out of your sinuses you didnt know you had....

neti pots are like $5 at most Rx stores, i have a cheapie blue plastic one that came w/ buffered salt packets (more or less pure salt + some baking soda) and it kicks ass
