who needs mods chips, around here we flash bios.

well i think you are referring to a TSOP flash. either way, modchip or tsop, you are flashing a modded bios. the modchip allows you to turn it off and use an original bios, and also allows you to use multiple bios's for different functions, for example, debug bios's for development. either way, i voted for the xbox, as you can mod it and upgrade the hard drive, and the possibilities are endless for the system. emulators, media centers, even free alternatives to xbox live, its the way to go..

I voted for PS2. Such a lead for the X-Box.. I just don't get it. If you own a PC, you already have access to a wide range of X-Box games.
I guess when it comes to computer geeks, specs and graphics weigh a whole lot more than games do.

At least I think it's just a computer geek thing since forums accross the internet usually pillage the PS2 in favor for X-Box while the PS2 outsells it by what, 5:1?
Oh well. Just my $.02.

Happy 2005 everyone! And Happy B-day to me today!

P.S. I am also a computer geek. I'm just one of the ones who doesn't "get it."

This isn't even a contest dude. Xbox.

- Better graphics. Sorry PS2 peeps, there is just no contest.
- 4 player support out of the box. I picked up two extra 3rd-party controllers on the cheap along with Top Spin which is FANTASTIC for parties.
- All the good games these days are Xbox exclusives or available to it. Exception: Gran Turismo and Metal Gear series.
- Xbox Live is fantastic. Project Gotham Racing 2 + Xbox Live = 8-player races anytime you're awake. Halo 2 + Xbox Live = A somewhat flawed game with a pretty damn fun online component.
- A lifetime when the current gen consoles time has long passed. What are you gonna do with your old PS2?

stupid question.

it depends what type of games you like.

if you find yourself liking Japanese action games and RPG's, PS2 is the obvious system for you.

if you like FPS/twitch games, playing online with other people, or games to play with a couple buddies while hanging out, go with the XBox.

my roommate and I have both... I play PS2 95% of the time, while he plays XBox 95% of the time. different strokes for different folks 🙂

Why no Cube? Whilst the games arent as serious, they certainly beat the crap out of the remaining consoles in terms of fun.

I agree

Gamecube

I own all three consoles (and three very capable PC's), and I rarely play anything but the Xbox.

I was totally excited for GT4... Until I found out they nixed online play.

geesh, halo 2 isn't even that great. It's a good game by any standards, but it is not great enough alone to justify buying an xbox.
