ATOT Comic Strip - Test

RESmonkey

Haven't talked to ViviTheMage about it yet, he appears offline.
It's up to him if he wants to make this the first strip; please provide some comments.

Here it is: it is quite big so make sure to maximize your windows and make sure it's zoomed at 100% for clarity.

That character is a combination of a few ATOT members 🙂

Thanks

ummm...ok?

it would be better if you find the old photo site for all the atot people that was around, and take the heads from the pictures and make some superdeformed characters. I think nowhereman hosted the old picture site, or maybe it was someone else. had a lot of good pics of all the "old timers"

unfunny, unoriginal, bad content, bad artwork.

hmm...sounds like a typical atot thread.

of all the things you could have done the comic about, you pick the most mundane and generic? i guess it doesn't matter anyway because atoters also have a habit of doing something to death, like the bulk beef. it's not funny any more, and seeing it in comic form will just make it worse.

i was kind of thinking it's like one of those infinity mirrors with the lights inside of them where it looks like the lights go on forever. sorry, kind of just rambling.
I think it would be great if you used the heads of actual atot people from pictures they posted.

Wouldn't the surroundings make a guessing game for you to try and figure out which members are represented?

oh, like a scavenger hunt. i'd lose. i don't know much about any of the new folk here, so i guess the "inside humor" would work on someone more attune to the current posts?
Don't get me wrong, i think it's a great idea. I think the less you leave to the imagination the better you are off because you'll get people like me that "won't get it" and the humor you try to convey will be lost. When you work inside humor, you tend to serve too small an audience to reap much success. For more broad success in a comic strip, you shouldn't leave anything to guess or you run the chance the joke won't be had.

The whole comic is still under discussion on how it should be preseented; perhaps they can be open while also having inside jokes?

Hey! Your's is strip #2, not strip #1 😛
strip one
(I blame the malfunctioning mouse & lack of time for quality)

sounds good to me. i just wanted to lend an opinion from someone who just didn't get it. it'd be like talking about paulson bidding on the moderator job on ebay. it's a great inside joke if you knew about it when it happened, but if you just read it for what it was, you'd be lost as to what really happened.

Humor is best left obvious. <--just my opinion.

i think the effort is fantastic, and it is a great idea.

SELL YOUR COMPUTER AND NEVER POST ON THE INTERNET AGAIN!

😛 😀

I thought it was funny. You pinned the typical ATOT attitude.

Ummm... nice try, I guess?

How about this: First frame, man answers phone, voice on the other end is saying "OMG, SPIDER!" The second frame is the man arriving at the house and seeing the spider. The third frame is completely black.
You could also do a corportate whistleblower comic that would be virtually identical.

You could do a Better Nate than Lever strip which would be as long as an Asterix the Gaul book.

Another one: Two people talking. One says "I put an airplane on a treadmill and it didn't take off! Everyone was wrong!" Second guy says "Hmmm..." and strokes his chin. Second panel, they go up to the airplane and the second man says "Well see, here's your problem right here." Third panel: "Someone replaced your alternator with beef," as he pulls a steak out of the engine.
