What do people usually do at thses meets? I'm assuming most of the time its a whole bunch of computer geeks staring @ each other... that being said, I'm all up for meeting and stuff.. but it would be great if it was somewhere entertaining... maybe going to a trendy restaurant.. .or eveyone going to a cubs game or something..

come to think about it, it would actually be interesting to meet @ a cubs game... :)

Cubs? Fvck that!

If we go to a baseball game, it's gotta be a Sox game. The Cubs are flat out embarrasing to watch this year.

1. There is more (and better) beer at The Cell.
2. The girls are definitely hotter at The Cell.
3. The Red line has the Sox/35th stop.

WINNAR.

To be honest, I've never been to the cell. However, I got lost in that neigborhood once -- kinda scared me. I guess I'm more of a northsider. My impression of the Cell is that theres really not much of a bar scene. You need to get a cab to go somewhere to drink after the game. Besides the chances of getting mugged @ the cell, is a lot higher.. but that's all conjecture on my side..

Like I say, i'm not "South-SIDEEE" :)

I haven't read the thread/replies, but I'll go if I can get there without driving from Northwestern and can get in at the age of 19

Sounds like you've given into that notion that everything south of Roosevelt Road in the city is the ghetto. You won't be mugged at The Cell. Well maybe if you show up in a Cubs hat... but even then, we all feel bad for you and your "team."

My band practices near the Cell (walking distance) on Thursday nights and Sunday afternoons. We typically go to Puffer's afterwards, on Halsted between 33rd and 34th. Not too far from the Cell either.

Well, if anyone's feeling adventurous, I'm thinking of going to a Legion in Bucktown that has karaoke once a month. I figure I'll be there around 8ish or so. The address is 1824 W Cortland (at Honore). I'm at my parents' right now but I'll be heading home shortly to take the Blue Line in. When I get home I'll check my PMs if anyone wants my cell to meet me there. Or if you miss me you can get it from DainBramaged  Oh and their playlist is on this page.

Here are some possibilities for this weekend (9/16 & 9/17), for whoever can make it:

This Saturday (9/16), at Grant Park, my band is playing at Celtic Fest. Parade at 11:15am, concert at 3pm. I think our spot is just north of Buckingham Fountain, can't remember. Just follow your ears.

Also, this Sunday (9/17), blodhi74 and I are planning to get together at a sports bar for the Bears game. Location TBA... Markers will be on the map.

HomeBrewerDude, if you come, you have to bring your cat. I want to take a picture with it. I think I'll even bring some fake blood to make it look like it killed me.

Well, me and blodhi74 were going to meet at Ringside in Elk Grove Village to take in the Bears game, but he had to cancel. If anyone wants to meet up today and watch some football that would be cool. There's also Shoeless Joe's and Gino's East in Rosemont.
