iirc there's one blood type that if a person has it; they can be transfused with any type of blood. Don't know it off the top of my head though.

It could of just been one of those really mistakes. It might've happened for no apparent reason, it wouldnt be the first time (look at the platypus). Or, like one of the original posts said it probably has a lot to do with helping us with parasites and the like. All I know is if a positive is pregnant with a negative (or vice versa) sometimes the woman's body with fight off the baby.
