how do i connect to that IP address in gamespy?

Good lord!!! Do not try this through gamespy!!!

To connect directly do the following:

1. Start the game.
2. Log in (that Army password thing, just in case you qualify)
3. Hit the ` key (the key just above the tab key and to the left of the "1" key)
4. A little > willl show up and type in this (without the quotes) "open 24.120.49.189:7777" and hit enter.
5. Your screen should say "loading" in blue text then you will be admitted to the game.
6. Hit the ` key again to make the console go away.
7. Hit F3 to select a team, then wait for the join.
8. Have fun and watch the friendly fire.

I have decided to leave this server going for the weekend, so lets have some fun.

I am SARmedic when we play, please post your name here so we know who you are when we play.

Thanks and have fun, David.

had fun playing on your server earlier. 🙂 since there were so few people in there, i have a better idea of the map now..

If nobody is in there, you can just run around and secure all the objectives, if you get lucky the ARMY server will qualify you.

It is better than I thought, no pings over 200 (in fact, everybody was under 100)

I'm Crawford... how does one get the objectives? I felt stupid running around w/o knowing how to find/secure the objectives :/

oh.. press f4 to show the objectives... there are 3 points that you must secure.. one of the areas you have to secure is in that building with the ladder to the tower.. right in front of it is a wooden thingy.. press and hold "E" and wait till the bar finishes.. it should tell you that you secured the area. i think the aiming is off in the game, so sometimes it takes a couple of presses of "E" to get it going.. (just wait for a green bar, sorta like in CS when you're planting/defusing a bomb)

Thanks for your server. Was able to play some 2 on 2. And figured out where that 'C' point was. Sure wish it were easier to distinguish friend from foe - dark green vs camo in a night game at distance. Had to read the game manual to figure out how to sprint too.

LOL, the other team is always in the solid uniform, no matter what team you play on. It is a bit hard to tell so you need to be careful, if your ROE points get too high (on an official army server) they will boot you from it. If you keep doing it you will get banned for life.

They keep track of your training too, so don't go around shooting your DI because too much of that may end your career in a hurry. LOL

if someone wants to take me thru the process, i can put it on my server. i have a partial t-1 (virtually a t-1 off business hours) and a Gateway 6400 dual 1 ghz as server.

The more servers the better if you ask me. If you want them I can email you the two files you need to do the server, PM me and I will.

There are only two files you need, one ini file and one batch file (you can make it yourself if you want, I hate getting .bat files in the mail). There is only one line in the batch file so it is pretty easy to make. It is an unreal server engine, and you cannot play the game on the same computer you are using as a server, at least not that I can tell. That is why I am running it off my laptop.

I don't think this game can address dual procs (can any?) so that will not help, but the connection and speed of your comp look good.

game probably can't but the Win2k server can. so it will allow me to host the game while going about my daily business without much hiccup. 🙂

True, your other proggies can use the dual procs, I was not even thinking of that. You cant play on the same computer as the server is running though, unless I am riding the short bus and cant figure out how.

I sent you the files, I hope my instructions were not too confusing since I wrote them pretty quickly. Let me know if you have any problems with it.

Anybody want a walkthrough type thing for the MOUT map??

I took a bunch of screenshots during the game and could probably put up a small "how you do it" type page(s). I hear a lot of people wondering how you do stuff or how you complete the goals. The game is set up to complete the goals, not to kill all the other players. It is an "objective" based game, which I think is great.

Let me know if you want it, I can set it up pretty quickly if a few people want it.

Okay... I kinda understand now... that objective you're talking about is objective B.... still don't know where to find the other 2, though 🙁

on the team you were playing while i was, objective A is in the 3rd building right next to objective B.. objective C is in the first building to your right where you spawn on the 2nd floor (there's a telephone booth next to the building).. hope that helps.

Ah... okay... I'll have to play some more on the server to get used to where they are 🙂

A shame I can't fire the M249 without the game crashing... it's probably the only
thing keeping me from finishing the training missions.

It seems everyone I ask is running an NVIDIA card. Here's my problem: I have Radeon 64mb DDR VIVO card/384mb DDR Ram/ K7 1.33ghz/Latest DirectX/ATI Driver set: 4.13.01.9030/Win98se. And I'm getting blocky fog textures on The Bridge, like it's not a fog but rather textures fail to exist and i just see a huge blank white space. What do I do? Thanks.
