A few months ago, there was a thread on here about people throwing their cigarettes out the window. I was really suprised that it pissed people off so much, I never even give a half second of thought. Since the day I read that thread I haven't thrown a single cigarette out the window of my car. (Yes, I smoke 😉)

I did a beach cleanup day a few years back. Once I saw how many butts end up on the beach (measured in TONS for California), I quit tossing butts. If it's at all possible, I'll use an ashtray. If there's no ashtray around, but a trash can, I'll pinch off the cherry and toss the butt in the trash.

I just couldn't believe how much those things add up.

Congrats to any smoker who finally learns the world is not your ashtray. 🙂

Now, all you have to do is find the motivation to quit smoking, entirely. I've only lost eight friends to smoking-related illnesses in six years, and I'm pissed as hell at the tobacco companies.

And before you tell me they "had a choice," no, they didn't. I'm over 60, and when we were kids, there were no warning lables on the packs, and there were radio and TV commercials with ads claiming that more "doctors" preferred one brand or another, as well as all the glamorization in the movies and magazines.

Doesn't mean they didn't have a choice. They were not forced to smoke, they still chose to.
