JuCo transfer - never took either exam.

OK - well thats not true, I took the SAT while in the Army during basic training as they wanted to send me to the Academy. After being sleep deprived and physically/mentally beaten down for weeks I slept through almost the entire exam that started at 6am.

No clue on what my score was but I did not get to go the Academy.

I got some really crappy score because I didn't care. I got high in math and science but low in the other 1 or 2 (don't remember them all anymore, reading & writing?).

Retook it and scored 1 point higher lol. My parents cared way more than I did so I just did it to shut them up. I got into the college I wanted and now work at the company I aimed to work at. Focusing on that stuff is way overrated. Learn social skills and basic problem solving and you're good to go.

why is that surprising? if you know how to use basic charts, graphs, and you can skim the reading sections of the science portion for the most part and manage to get everything.

hell the science section felt like the easiest section as long as you actually had a high school level science class.

Because I did terrible on it last time

I think I had a 25 on it back in 1995. I kind of hated math, chemistry and physics. But loved biology. It was good enough to get into a 4 year liberal arts school and get a computer science degree.

20 years later I've got recruiters banging down my door with $100+/hr contracts because of my healthcare IT specialization. It worked out ok for me.

🙂

Look at all you smart guys.. 19 here. I was just an average student who was/is terrible at Math. Probably why I suck at subnetting

I got a 29 the first time I took it. I was going to take it again my senior year, but I kind of bitched out on it.

I took a special ACT prep course, paid the fee, and then decided I didn't really care enough to get up the morning of the test. I did a lot of flaky shit like that in my teens and early 20s. For all the great test scores I got, I was pretty fucking stupid in my youth. Why the hell would I put all that previous effort in and then just sleep in? It boggles my present-day mind.

I got a 24 the first time. Took it a second time and got a 28. By the time I got the scores back for the second test, I already got into a few colleges. So, I guess it didn't really matter. I had the grades and a killer essay.

Never took the SAT because I could use either the ACT or the SAT on the applications.

32 in 1984. On the SAT I got a 780 on the math and 670 verbal for a 1450 combined the second time I took it, I think I got 720/610 the first time. I've always been decent at standardized tests but not particularly strong at the verbal sections. I'm glad I never had to take the written section.

The scale (like the SAT has changed over the years). I did well enough along with my Pharmacy test (PCAT) to get into UF and UM (state and a private school).

30. Probably in 2001.

IIRC my science score was like a 34 but I bombed the math. English probably somewhere in the middle.

Only took it once because the state school closest to me was good for the program I wanted, and anyone with a pulse could get in there.

Got a 28. 34 on the english section as evidenced by my amazing grammatical skills and being a lyrical gangster.

780 on the math section; can't remember the exact score on the English section; 6-something. I remember the math score because I know exactly which math questions I missed. Stupid, stupid errors. Which of the following... I eliminated 3 choices, circled the problem to come back to later. So, it was down to 2 choices. Rather than eliminate C, I circled C. Ooops - my work was correct, but I was supposed to cross that off and circle the remaining answer. Did that for a couple of problems, and realized before I even left the testing room.

Also note: sometime during the 90's, they curved the grades on the SAT a little more, because you younger generation aren't, apparently, as smart as the older generation was. 😛 (Wish I could find a link) Overall scores were trending downward, so there was a scoring adjustment.

i got a 29 on the ACT when i took it. didn't know there was no guessing penalty so I left half the answers blank 🙁 didn't study for it and it was harder than I expected.

7I remember the math score because I know exactly which math questions I missed

Heh - I did the same thing. I felt like one of the questions was very poorly written and I knew which answer they wanted, but felt it was wrong. I think there was one other question I was unsure of but I think I got it right anyway.

I ended up with a 780; IIRC it was only one missed question but maybe it was two.
