So... continue supporting your current hardware, buy up D525s if you want, and transition to low powered Pentium Gs or i3s. Heck, you can even underclock them.

Or use a VIA Nano. Those are dual core and actually support 64-bit.

Sadly, the VIA chips make the Atom look fast in comparison.

Sandy Bridge parts are nice, but they cost a LOT more in volume and run hot in comparison to something like an Atom. Good luck finding a cheap way to passively cool them.

my atom mainboard i change the cooling system

one at the atom 330
and one at the chipset
i had the fan on and it was still so silent
with temp hiting 25 idle
and the 19db you can not hear it.

I had a MSi Wind clone a few years ago and boy, that thing was a lesson in patience! D:

...mostly due to the abysmal 4200 rpm hdds in those things. But in an ssd and it will "fly", at least for any non-flash webpages.

That Nano uses nearly triple the power of an Atom D510 at full load, it had better be faster!! Source.
