Been using an old asus tf101 for almost 2 years now and I'm ready for a new "laptop". I know this new range of processors is extremely new but was wondering if anyone knew of any ultrabooks that may be coming out with them in the near future?

I don't really need the processing power of an i3, i5, or i7 and I'm really accustomed to the 10+ hour battery life of my tf101. My ideal system would be 10-12 inch hd high quality 1080p screen, 3770k, 64gb+ ssd, windows 8.1, thin, metal and solid construction in the $400-$500 price range. Anyone know of anything coming out that would suit my interests?

From what I can tell its only really being released on tablets and was wondering if anyone knew anything I didn't? I almost never use my tablet without the keyboard and tablets arn't really attractive to me. The t100 would be my ideal system but i'm less then impressed with the screen quality, size and materials used in construction. The removeable screen adds a lot of bulk I have no interest in.

I don't think they're going to use Atom Z3770 in "laptops" at all (only tablets and 2-in-1s like the Asus T100 and Dell Venue 11), and I don't think most of the 10-12" $400-$500 laptops will have SSDs or 1080p any time soon. You might need to spend $600-$1200 and get a high end ultrabook to get all those features you want.

Ya I was just hoping they'd come out with an ultrabook with the 37xx lineup. I love the size/build quaities of high end ultrabooks, but I prefer the battery life/passive cooling of tablets/convertibles.

My processing needs are fairly basic, I really only use my "laptop" for web browsing, downloading/playing music/movies, syncing my phone/android hub, and maybe the odd word document. I also use the occasional media server app. I really feel tablets without keyboards are a novelty, and the convertibles are just too thick to have that sexy high end look. not to mention most are made with cheap plastic. In the 2 years ive had my tf101, using it practically every day, I've used it in tablet mode for maybe 10 hours total. Android platform also no longer supports my needs. Tired of the mobile browsing experience and lack of flash.

Its really a shame netbook is a dead form factor. A Modern netbook made with high end materials on a modern atom platform .6" thick would be sick. I do believe they still have a place in modern computing.

Any ultrabook type systems with those processors that get over 10 hours battery that you can recommend?

I don't think the products are launched yet. The tablets and "laplet hybrids" are probably the first wave. The notebooks will come later. If I were to totally guess, it would be after the holiday season is over and the current stock of "budget laptops" are burned through.

Any atom processor is gonna garner alot of battery life but terrible performance. I`d suggest going with a Lenovo Flex OR a Surface Pro 2. The Lenovo gives you back the performance but you sacrifice battery life. Surface Pro 2 give you the battery life but then the performance may not interest you.
