If both cards cost the same, which one is the best buy?

- Sapphire Atlantis 9600XT with 256 megabyte of RAM
- Sapphire Atlantis 9800 128-bits with 128 megabyte of RAM

The XT is the higher model than the Pro (XT is better). I've heard that the 256 meg version has slower ram; I'm not sure about that tho. I'm using a Sapphire 9600xt with 128mb, works great.

Edit: oops, thought it was 9600xt vs 9600pro, not 9800...haha...see below...

Oh, I forgot that Sapphire doesn't call the 128bits edition Pro anymore. Now it's just Atlantis 9800 128-bit

ts3433, it is the 9800 atlantis, it only has 128bit memory. Even if it does have 8 pipelines, doesn't mean a heck of a lot. I would say the 9800 would beat the 9600 but not by a lot like a 9800pro would kill a 9600. I would rate it just below the 9700pro

none whatsoever unless you play at 1600x1200 with 16xAF and 8xAA which you won't be doing with either of these cards.

The 9800 has z-checks enabled so should be more efficient with the bandwidth it has.
