Beach-wise it's a toss up.
I love them both.
I've lived on both coasts and they are both great for different reasons.

Atlantic has warm water and mild waves, Pacific has cold water and large waves.

I actually like the desert myself...

Pacific... not as many hurricanes seem to hit the Pacific Coast.

I love the NW Washington. No hurricanes, few major earth quakes (compared to CA) and the San Juan islands/Vancouver Island protect us from Tsunamis. 😀

I am closer to the Atlantic ocean but I'd rather be on the Pacific side. Not to mention the South Pacific ranks as a place that seems to be heaven on Earth to me. I can't wait to visit someday.

Well if you want to start discussing "natural disaster free zones" you cannot beat the Mid Atlantic Region.

No, but that region qualifies as garbage dumping water. Remember all that garbage that used to be dumped out in the Atlantic.

I'm from New Jersey and I love beaches to death.

I've been to California beaches before, Redonde and Santa Monica beaches. Overall, I like California beaches because of waves. I'm biased.

Well the Chesapeake and Potomac are trashed but that's a topic I prefer not to discuss.
