It's a fact that Louisiana loses feet of coastline every year simply due to erosion. Saltwater incursion also ruins more habitable water and land. Add in hurricane damage OF ANY CAT and there will always be human, financial, agricultural, and cultural damage!
And yet they reliably vote against trying to control climate change.

That's fucked up too…
I hope you’re not saying that wishing bad things on evil people is fucked up because I would have to in part agree. It’s fucked up because Karmic ignorance, the lack of conscious awareness and lack of moral development as a result of the circumstances people were born into is a statistical random event, not a matter of being evil. It’s the same sort of Karma that creates people who are judgmental and pointy finger blaming.

The environment appears primed for significant strengthening while
Helene moves across the Gulf of Mexico. The forecast track more or
less runs along the axis of the Loop Current during the next 24
hours, where ocean temperatures are about 30 degrees Celsius. In
addition, Helene will be moving through an environment of low
vertical shear and strong upper-level divergence. Some of the
Rapid Intensification (RI) indices, particular DTOPS, respond to
this environment by indicating at least a 90 percent chance of a
35-kt increase in intensity over the next 24 hours. The NHC
intensity forecast now shows an intensity of 115 kt (Category 4) at
24 hours, which is mirrored by several of the regional hurricane
models and the SHIPS guidance.
It should be noted that additional
strengthening is possible beyond 24 hours before Helene makes
landfall Thursday evening.
85mph and strengthening. Please stay safe. I wouldn't want to be in the path of this hurricane.

I am sure Florida won’t ask for Federal Emergency dollars for this Chinese hoax hurricane right? Right? I mean what a loser a governor would be to accept Washington’s woke corrupt emergency dollars over a Chinese hoax.
There were hurricanes before liberals who made up Climate change which is a hoax. hurricanes have nothing to do with science fiction. That was easy.

Not really. I didn't wish for a hurricane to hit, it's going to. And it's hitting the mid and upper western coast part of Florida. Which is definitely more maga leaning. So if a crazy fucking big hurricane is going to hit there, it may as well do some good. I didn't wish it upon them but it's happening. So I will find the silver linings, and that is a silver fucking lining.

The fewer white Nazi fascist trumpers are able to vote this election the better.

I stand by my comment and don't feel bad whatsoever. But I do feel terribly bad for any non-maga who gets affected by this, there is zero silver lining for them or us.

Oh, I could go there. But....
Let's keep the thread about the Hurricane and leave the election to its own (many) threads.

Duh! Be surprised if this isn't by far the most monstrous hurricane season ever seen by humanity. I mean, how can it not be with the Atlantic so heated up?

Upside... maybe Maralago gets obliterated.
Helene is 450 miles from landfall, Cat 1. At landfall possible Cat 4. Headed for direct hit on Florida. TBH, I'm schadenfreude on this one. Republican governor, Republican senators, Republicans do not believe there's a climate crisis going on, they deny it. A few years ago there was only one major Republican who admitted it wasn't a hoax and he said in his opinion there was nothing that could be done about it so why take it into consideration in governance, Ohio governor what's his name, I forget, a POTUS potential candidate for 2016 election (must have been John Kasich). If Florida is obliterated don't they have it coming?

Politically speaking if it hits the FL panhandle that's the best outcome. A Category 4 or 5 traipsing through the offshore oil and gas infrastructure west of there and flooding refineries in LA would be a fucking nightmare weeks before the election.

Climate change leading to more severe hurricanes is a hoax and fake news. Just like covid! Magaland should probably ignore all this science drenched stuff and just be glad drag queens have been put in their place.

Gonna be a rough one. Didn't get stalled by the Yucatan, and waters are 2c over normal. Estimating a cat4 with 10'' of rainfall but I feel like they usually underestimate, so I'm guessing landfall at cat5.
One does not merely reach 160mph sustained winds at landfall.
Especially for a 'cane of this size.

And hopefully cost the Republicans many many thousands (millions?) of votes that go blue instead. Kamala has said that climate catastrophe mitigation is definitely part of her agenda.
