atlanta braves

so kyle davies makes his major league debut in 10 minutes (or later due to rain) as the braves top pitching prospect. i started thinking about the last time we have had a rookie starting pitcher making their debut and can not figure out who it was? anyone know or have any thoughts on davies?

i would like to see that, but i am not near a TV

is the game on TBS, if not, a tV wouldn't help out here

Always fun to watch the debut of a big pitching prospect. Of course the Braves have to deal with good ol' reliable Wakefield and his funky knuckleball. The game is on TBS and its currently on rain delay.

Yea..he did very, very well. Did he get called up for Thomson? I guess he'll stick around for awhile if thats the case. The BoSox look very sloppy in the field today.

I love John Schorholtz's ability to realize which "blue chip pitching prospects" he can trade and which to keep. We've traded a number of them over the past year (Jose Capellan, Adam Wainwright, and Dan Meyer most recently)... hopefully JS's track record continues.

braves have an interesting decision to make.

i really think smoltz should go back to the Pen. we need him to close.

of course hampton and thompson going on DL don't really help that. but once those to get back the braves have a scary starting rotation.

Thomson is out for a few months though. How about Hampton?? How long will he be out? Its a bit unfair for Smoltz to go back to the bullpen considering he looks like the old Smoltz again. One of the guys in the bullpen needs to step up.

i believe hampton is on 15 day dl retroactive.

well, kyle davies had an excellent major league debut in fenway park. i scored tickets to tonights game and look forward to davies hometown debut. with only 3 days rest, it is time to see how this kid can shine.

Davies was very good...of course credit should go to the Mets futility at the plate as well. ...grumble grumble...
